Yeh we don't have much grass up here either, but we do have lots of shade trees. You make your own fly masks? They are so cheap to buy. I bought two of them last summer for only $6 a piece. I couldn't buy the material and sew themselves for that price!
My old flymask is getting kind of worn...so, my Mom says she's making me a new one... in the meantime, this one still helps keep my eyes shaded from the hot New Mexican sun...plus, I try and spend time in the shade along the edges of our pasture. You can find me there, in the middle of the day, when its hottest. I'm a "pretty smart cookie" as my Mom says. I miss grass..there's not much around here...but, as you can see, I keep searching for any little piece I can scout out.
